Introducing My New Lithuanian Language Learning App
I'm excited to share my latest project: a new Lithuanian language learning app, coming soon to Android and the App Store. Built with a learner-first mindset, this app is designed to help you go from basic phrases to confident communication through short, focused practice sessions.

Why I'm Building It
Living and working in Vilnius, I see how many people want to learn Lithuanian but struggle to find modern, mobile-friendly tools that fit into a busy day. Most existing apps either feel too generic or skip over real-life phrases that you actually need in shops, offices, or when meeting people in Lithuania. This project is my way of combining my background in full‑stack and mobile development with a practical, local need.
What Makes This App Different
The app focuses on real Lithuanian as it's used every day, not just textbook examples.
Planned features include:
- Short daily lessons you can complete in 5–10 minutes, ideal for commuters and busy professionals.
- Practical phrase packs for situations like supermarkets, migration office visits, public transport, and social introductions.
- Native-quality audio so you can hear natural pronunciation and intonation.
- Light gamification with streaks and progress tracking to keep you motivated without feeling like a grind.
- Smart review that resurfaces words and phrases right before you forget them, using spaced repetition techniques.
Technology And Platforms
The app is being developed with Flutter, allowing me to ship a consistent experience on both Android and iOS from a single codebase. My goal is to make the interface clean, fast, and intuitive so learners can focus on Lithuanian, not on figuring out how the app works. Offline-friendly design is also a priority, so you can keep learning even when your connection is weak or expensive.
Who It's For
This app is for anyone who wants Lithuanian to become part of their real life, not just another unfinished course:
- Newcomers living in Lithuania who want to handle daily tasks more confidently.
- International students and professionals who need survival Lithuanian plus a bit more.
- People abroad with Lithuanian roots who want to reconnect with the language in a structured but friendly way.
What's Next
Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing more about the design, features, and early screenshots as I move toward a public beta on Android and iOS. If you're interested in trying the app early or giving feedback on specific features, feel free to reach out—I'd love to build this together with real learners in Lithuania and around the world.
